[Review] Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge: The Next-Gen Camera

Thank you to Veshal Purshothama Seelan for sharing this insight about Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge camera with Clickuz.

Hopefully this article could give a clear picture for anyone who want to know about the S7 Edge camera quality.

=====

Samsung created a better camera compare to last year’s excellent camera.

They made it extra fast, both, time it takes to launch the app and time it takes to auto focus.

The S7 is packed with a 12 megapixel for the primary sensor and 5 megapixel for the secondary sensor.

Although the S7’s camera resolution is reduced from its predecessor S6, Samsung promises bigger physical pixel at 1.4 micron and a wider aperture at f/1.7, letting in more light, so the loss in resolution is made up by better low light performance which impressed almost everybody.

It also comes with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) which kept things blur-free.

Samsung introduced a new technology, Dual-Pixel Auto Focus, with every single pixel containing two photo diodes instead of just one found on a standard smartphone cameras, which is the same technology found in some DSLR cameras.

Each individual pixel on the sensor acts as an auto focus point, which makes it to focus and shoot on a subject in mere milliseconds, and there’s no delay at all between tapping the shutter button and the photo being taken.

The camera app created by Samsung is one of the best made for android platform, it is simple but there are lots of unique features hidden beneath the surface.

Motion Photo, a few seconds worth of video, a feature like Apple’s Live Photo.

There are 10 different modes including Virtual Shot, which lets you take a 360⁰ circle shot, Selective Focus, which allows you to focus foreground and background after you take the picture, Slow Motion, Hyper Lapse, Food Mode and many other useful modes which can be downloaded from the Samsung Galaxy App Store such as, rear cam selfie, animated GIF, and dual camera.

One of my favorite mode is Professional Mode, which allows us to tweak almost every settings, like the shutter speed, white balance, manual focus, ISO and many more.

The S7 can capture RAW format images too.

If you ask me, this is the best android phone at the moment, and without any doubt, it has the best camera on a smartphone, hands down.

Below are some photos taken with my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.

Let the photos speak by themselves.
